simple is beautiful

I’m here to get out some last minute thoughts before this year is over. I’m sure i’m not alone in feeling glad that 2009 is coming to a close. For many this was not the best year on record and I’m sure that a lot of you are now are getting ready to start over. The coming of a new year is in a way a symbol of rebirth. A year coming into existence. Cosmically not meaning much since our blue mar-ball continues to cruse through space as if it were any other day. Its us who make this man-invented date magical. As a symbol this day gives us power to say and maybe even push us to change things in our lives that we think are ought to be changed. Things that seemed difficult to undertake on any other day.

Its a new year’s traditions to make resolution but we end up coming up with something so optimistically grandiose that we usually don’t know where to begin and can’t imagine the end.

What i propose is this:

Make 6 Resolutions.

As for me, I’m starting with a week of “Technology Detox” during which I’m not using any technology for recreational purposes. That means no TV, no non-phone functions of the iPhone, and no computer/Internet for non-work related stuff. This i think is a good way to start the year and will allow be to regain focus of important things.

After the first week i’ll be posting the first of my 6 Resolutions along with a rough outline of what I’m planning on doing.

As for now I’m off to find a glass of champagne.

Have a very good new year’s eve everyone.

Stay safe.
